Biography: Paul Waaktar Savoy, and his wife Lauren started Savoy one winter after A-HA hadn't done anything for a while. They got Frode Unneland and Greg Calvert on the team and this Norwegian/American band was a reality. Playing melodic pop-rock, that isn't totally unsimilar of some of A-HA's more mature material, but with a lot more edge and drive, they have been popular in the club-scene, but have had problems getting the promotion they need for a full blown international career. -Tom (May99) |
