Biography:
Trine's first album was a massive hit, and sold 200 000 in Norway, and 400 000 in
Japan. She also got a lot of press when Natalie Imbruglia got a massive hit with
'Torn' - but neglected to tell that it was a cover. Trine Rein had done a practically
identical version before Natalie's hit - and the english newspaper Sun even made it
available on phone, so that people could call in to compare the songs. Even though
Natalie Imbruglia didn't do anything wrong, it did do her damage since her label tried
to bill her as a great songwriter.
The music that Trine performs is pop and ballads, and often has a very good
'singability' to it. On her last album, she even had Mariah Carey's songwriters write
her songs, but it sold quite poorly, nonetheless.
That she possesses star-quality and a great voice is for certain, and we hope she will
come back with a vengeance.
